The solution was based on SharePoint Server 2010 platform and powered by Nintex-2010 Workflow engine. This made the system extensible and thus, there is a flexibility to design additional processes in future as per the requirement.

Business Problems
In many organizations, new employee joining processes are usually manual and often not very well managed. This results in incomplete tasks, delays, erroneous data and increase in paperwork because the data is never digitized.

In most organizations, as part of typical process of new employee joining:

New joinee has to fill in a data sheet form on the first day of joining.
HR needs to co-ordinate with various departments to fulfill multiple formalities such as creating bank accounts, creating access cards/IDs, allocating workstation and also IT access to systems.
HR also needs to collect many documents such as credentials, reliving letters from past companies.

Most of this co-ordination is done either through emails and phone calls, which obviously is not the most optimized method and leads to failure in timely completion of tasks. Also, HR does not always have bandwidth to enter paper based data into IT systems. Usually, a handful of people have access to backend and LOB systems. Because of this, all such employee documents are never updated and digitized.
